lumina vs civic

these stupid kids at my school think a 04 civic with a 1.8vtec will beat a 98 lumina with the 3100 in it in drag race. they even think that the civic will win in a 400 ft race. i say they are crazy. what do u think. they are both automatics by the way and are stock

I say the civic will probally win... just my opinon,, i have owned several civic's as well as beretta's and a lumina back in the day. The weight difference is one reason, and well ... i guess you've never driven a 1.8v-tec

I need to swallow my pride and say the Civic will win. Although the race in general is stupid. It's a damn Lumina. Not exactly a "sporty" car to begin with.

Is his civic a hatch,or coupe,?well either way the civic will probally still win. a normally aspirated 3.1 or 3100 v-6 even modded just can't hang with a dohc high reving motor. Trust me i've been schooled on a few times. redline is like 8 0r 9 on most honda's. Anything after 5- 5 1/2 your just making noise on a 3100
