Bfest Drag Racing and Dyno videos

Post by Rex 2.0 »

Here is what I have for video of the drag racing and dyno runs. I didn't get any of Bob's(gtzryda) car at the dyno because the kids were waiting to go to the amusement park. Sorry Bob.

Here is my dyno chart. I think I have a LO quad in my GTZ.
The red line is the stock chip, and the blue line is my custom w41 chip.

Man that drag strip made me sad... I don't regret upgrading my brakes this year though over tearing down the motor...

I'll be digging into it at the end of this week, or early next week, I just ordered a set of brand new GM LS6 lifters too, so I will be attacking that first, after checking compression and such.

I really wanted to hit the dyno with the "SS" to get some numbers & comparisons. I also think I might have had a chance at fastest NA V6 at the strip had I been able to run it. Stupid TOB...
91 "SS" - WOT 3400/5spd - 13.29@101.6 - World's fastest N/A FWD Beretta
96 "T56" LS/6spd/8.8 RWD swap - 13.45@104.7 lol

I wish one of the other 6 Quad rettas would have dynoed for comparison on my numbers. Pat from WI had W41 cams in his, Cam's Quad is damn near new, and the rest of the HOs would have been nice to see what they all put down.

People are too poor... LOL I saved the 60 bux since I KNEW I had an issue and just spent it on new lifters. I'll dyno it up here when its all back together.

I would have loved to see Pauly run his. I know he's worried about it but only 47k or something I'm sure it would have survived just fine.

Is there a dyno facility near Albany?

N/A V6 at Albany could be quite interesting, don't ya think?

I think I'll donate a trophy "I" like.

Quickly searching I couldn't find anything through google, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist...

I think we would have to ask around at performance shops to see what they know of or have. Not everyone is listed on google as a "dyno" that does have one, they may just be under the shop name.

Pat, how does the wideband respond now with the MAP scale being set to 2bar vs 1 as it was on the dyno? Looking at those graphs its like as soon as you started to make boost it went rich as all hell...

See if you can get a hold of Rex to see what he says. Also any word on that place that said they would help you dyno tune?

I did not see any difference at all from when I switched it to 2 bar. I still have not got in touch with the place around here that said they would help me tune. I think I am finally going to take the plunge an go at it myself. I found an electromotive forum so I am starting to ask questions on there. Not many users but hopefully I will be able to get some good information.

I have tried emailing Rex a couple of times over the past 6 months with no reply. I know he is really busy with the farm he maintains and 3 kids. I used to use rex@beretta.net but I don't know if that even goes to him any more since all the changes here.

I wanted to see dyno runs... Was that compression done with cold or hot engine? and did you try the ole spray WD-40 in the cylinder to see if it would seal it up more?
