Low Oil light on, possible problem with the oil sending unit

Post by scoldsteve »

Hi,

The low oil indicator light has come on in my 1995 Chevy Beretta V6 and it's staying on.. How do I know if the oil sending unit on it is shot, or if I dont have any oil compression? I looked into the rocker cover while the car was running and saw no oil moving about..

Please help..

Low oil light is a sensor in the bottom of the pan, You need to check an see if the oil level is even on the dipstick to verify that light.

The oil pressure switch looks like an old oil can shape. (kinda like a tea kettle)
