Why move battery... Do you need the room yet? If at all possible moving the battery to the trunk is not a valuable mod unless the space is needed. It will typically cause problems with the voltage drop you will see over a 15ft wire.

Might possibly move it for my WAI. But , I've installed it and it SEEMS to have clearance. Pics.

And some pics of her cleaned up. Oil pump failed 3 hours after this photoshoot. I caught it right away, but I don't have high hopes....

Oh, yeah. I'm sure. Believe me. It's had weak oil pressure and it dropped to zero. I caught it right away, and it didn't SOUND like any bottom end noise (bearings) , and I found pieces of pump gear in the oil I drained. Only noise I heard (and what caught my attention right away) was lifters chattering. If they collapsed though, they'll pump back up and if they don't , even though they're expensive (like $16 apiece) it's cheaper than rebuilding the W41. I have everything done ready to drop the pan. Only got a few bolts holding it snug overnight. Pan comes off tomorrow and we'll see the carnage. With ANY luck it didn't go through out the motor and ruin it. I MIGHT get lucky. I'm going to plasti-gauge my bearings to see if they're within tolerance and look ok. If so, it's a new pump gear or pump and back together.

A Quad eating an oil pump? No, never! haha

That sucks man. My 90 GTZ had an oil pump failure and it was fine after I replaced it.

FWIW, the pics came out very nice. I always shoot at dusk so my hunks of crap look like a million bucks!

ROFL! Woody. Thx MPB and Woody. All appears to have turned out better than I could have hoped. Here's a link to my Bstuff thread. I got lucky and it appears I'll be just replacing the oil pump gear. :D

Still waiting on the oil pump gear. NO ONE (not NAPA, AZ,O'Reilly's) had one any closer than 3 states away , so I went with AZ as they had the best price and all the stores were carrying the same brand and warranty. 4 days was the same time they all said. So it will be here tomorrow. HOPEFULLY, up and running tomorrow night or Wednesday morning. :D

This is one of those parts where I really think the GM replacement might be worth the effort and expense.

Just like LIL'Jon and the timing gear set. GM does tend to get it right.

But GL. I'm doing mine (155,xxx now) over the winter with GM parts

Ok, new oil pump gear pressed on pump, pump re-installed. OP at initial start: 65-70 psi. after warmed up 35-45 psi range after long running, she still likes to 'bleed down' to 25 psi. I'm assuming the pump housing clearances are worn. I will probably need to still replace the pump itself at a later date. I went with the factory recommended 5w-30. I think next week, I will swap that oil for some 10w-30. Thinking that will keep the OP at 35-45psi.

When I say 'bleed down' , I'm saying the further I go down the hwy, the more she GRADUALLY bleeds down, but never below 22 psi. Still, I don't like it. If she sits for a few minutes off and you start her back up, she goes right back up to 40 psi. So, like I said, it IS a 156k motor, we'll see what some 10w-30 does for that problem. Still OP is present and MUCH better overall. Lifters pumped back up fairly quick right away, were still slightly noisy. After shutting her down to check oil level and restarting they were MUCH quieter than they've been since I owned the car. Valve train noise is almost non-existent. :D So , I'm thinking a little heavier oil, and she'll be good to go.

Oh, and below? Old OP gear, new OP gear. See any differences? :D

Good to hear that you got it done. That low pressure puts some fear into me though.
