radiator fan

radiator fan

i have a 93 beretta 3.1 v6 and my radiator fan only comes on when i turn on my air conditioner. does anyone knoows why it doesnt turn on when it reaches the required tempeture???

Try replacing the temp sensor that's near your thermostat, AKA the fan switch sensor. If you look on an autoparts store website they should list two sensors, One that's in the back of the block IIRC on 3.1's (gauge sending unit) and one near the thermostat that is really the fan switch.

The one you want to replace looks like this

I think this is the other one that you wont need to change since your dash gauge is still working.

yeah. i replaced the temp gauge so i dont know why it only comes on when the air conditioner is running.

The sensor in the lower intake manifold (first pictured) should control the ECM as well as the fan.

i replaced the one by the thermostat. if all else fails.. i will put a toggle switch on it.
