Re: lbody headers...
Eric nah I don't want them totally flush, as then it breaks up the flow across that front area there where the bolts go anyway, and distracts from my chevy paint logo... I just want something smoother across the top. Flange stock bolts actually would look best I think painted black. I was thinking m8x65mm dome hex head with a washer under neath wouldn't be bad either. Normal socket cap hex look too small and tall.. Flat ones with a washer might look ok... Yeah I'm picky.

Re: lbody headers...
I tightened my stage 8s down with a regular socket and ratchet while I was sitting on the floor in front of my engine and trand already put together.
I may not count.
I like the Stage 8s a lot, they may not be countersunk and such, but they aren't ever going anywhere once you get the lock clips assembled.
Now, lol at my raw steel flanges!

Yeah I can see if those clips stay they arent going anywhere... But I dont know if there is that much room around the bottom side of the rear header on my set after being modified. At least not much space to get a socket in there to tighten it down.

Yes that is some very nice rust there KFLO.
3X00 you can see the hole for the allen in his photo. That should cure the room problem.

Re: lbody headers...
Stage8's bought. I liked the ability to tighten them with a socket and an allen. Oh, that and I've always wanted them. After all these years........ headers and Stage8's
Now I just need to find some stock gaskets. All I can find is Fel-Pro.

Your 100% on this?3X00-Modified wrote:Fel Pro are exactly the same as factory
Yeah, I saw those Cliff. I would like a one piece gasket. If I had to I could cut the bottom out of the lower bolt hole and make it real easy to line up.

Re: lbody headers...
I thought you had stock ones. Where did the other photo go?
Just want to make this a one time deal. I don't want to do it again. I won't have the time or money.

Re: lbody headers...
I have stock gaskets from a 04 3400 and the rear IIRC is from a 3500... Either way the stock gaskets are exactly the same as the Fel-pro ones.
I had a pic of a WOT-Tech gasket kit, but I thought this one showed the gasket itself better.

Re: lbody headers...
And that it does. I still must ask why you are using a 3500 gasket in the rear.
Why are you using a 3500 gasket in the rear? Do I really have to ask you two times? LoL a little Austin Powers there.
I think that fever I had on Thanksgiving did some damage.

Re: lbody headers...
I'm gonna venture a guess and say that's because that is what he had around. I was just going to use the old set of factory gaskets that came off of my engine since I was going to cut em up. Unfortunately I lost my used set before I could do that - so I went ahead and bought a new set of stock gaskets and cut them up.
