WOT runs 0-60mph and 0-100mph in the '93 SCX
Here ya go Issac Hayes.
Decided to get a few WOT runs in with the SCX today. Launches are a ###### in this thing! Anything above 2500 rpms turns into massive wheel spin! So , my launches suck but I'm working on them with this car. I figured out quickly you have to REALLY ride and feather the clutch in this little hot rod or it just wants to roast rubber all day!
I left a lot of long twin black marks out on Route 66 today before I got the launches down better. Route 66 runs right past my house about a mile away. PERFECT for those runs!
Especially since the cops were very scarce today with it being Thanksgiving.
Enjoy and feel free to comment!

Near as I can get with a DA calculator is about 7.7 on my 0-60 times adjusted. If I can clean up those launches, it'll be better. I'm at 6500 ft above sea level.

Mike I have to be honest, and I mean NO disrespect, but almost 18 seconds to 100 mph?
6500 ft or not, that is not all that impressive. Indicative I suppose, but nothing to write home about.
Then again I hate Quads! Own a nice one that goes like hell, but really have very little use for them to be honest.
Get your Beretta done and bring THAT to Chicago.

Yeah, knock a few seconds off for elevation, but 16 seconds to 100mph is no record for sure.
I know she's a bit tired, but that's probably still, what, mid 15's 1/4 mile @ sea level? I don't know why it appears so bad to everyone, I really think it's the huge amount of wheel spin and elevation and miles on the engine.
It's ok though, in a month or so, I'm tearing the motor and trans out and rebuilding both. Engine with forged internals, and the trans with an LSD. It'll be better, she does well for her miles.
Yeah, the GT-T will be at Bfest '10, don't worry. May not be painted, but it will be mechanically ready!

Boy that FDR would be nice to have. Are you sure you don't want some Hypereutectic pistons? They are better for street cars.

Sorry, kind of skimmed over your post earlier. Correct answer is NO and it's a 3.94 FDR. It's a NV T550 (New Venture Gear T550). That's what all, to my knowledge anyhow (there's rumors of some SCX's coming with Muncie 282's) all SCX's were shipped with. New Venture Trans 550.Money pit Beretta wrote:Is it a Getrag 282? No, Ross thermal coated will do nicely. That set of pull videos (after motor/trans rebuild and goodies) will be much better!Money pit Beretta wrote:Boy that FDR would be nice to have. Are you sure you don't want some Hypereutectic pistons? They are better for street cars.

They were, the ones before had like 90hp. Even with a auto trans they ran well. I got to stomp on the gas in Drivers Ed and that 1990 Cutlass Supreme 2.3 160hp got it! That's when I found out that the four bangers had come a long way. That thing made our old 1983 CS 3.8 look like a POS. Poor thing had highway gears though.
