One More Lope before Hybernation.....
Just for you 1988GTU, I brought the idle down to 730-800 rpm... Any lower and I think it wont even run... LOL

Oh and you can't help but notice the nice healthy dose of piston slap... LOL One major reason why I'm pulling it apart this winter, its not as loud in person as on the video but its still there and I want to make sure that my pistons are not all scratched up or wrecking my block. This sucker does have a bit over 30k on the bottom end now.

Oh c'mon Jon. Anyone can turn down the idle and make it sound lumpy!
My cam is hollow and stock, but it will run 99.75 mph N/A!
But it's time for all good Berettas to go nite-nite for a few months.

Not worth the effort of argument, its apples and oranges old man... you can't compare our cars, two totally different approaches.asylum wrote:Oh c'mon Jon. Anyone can turn down the idle and make it sound lumpy!

It sounds lumpy at 980 RPM too, I just turned it down to make it sound even more obnoxious.

Well that disproved our throttle plate idea?

Re: One More Lope before Hybernation.....
as far as the surging you mean? I did not check to see what the IAC was at that idle... It could have been at 0 for all I know. And when I say turned it down I mean in the PCM I set the idle RPM for lower... I didn't touch anything physical to do that.
I've corrected it for the most part, and I think it was the fact that it just wasn't set for a high enough idle when cold start. Now that I bumped that up it doesn't surge much at all when first started in 30* weather.
