Ok, that would be a great idea because of the kind of luck that you have had. Dang squrrels are still storing nuts.

Exhaust looks 1000x better. And the shift cable ends are sweet! Did you write a how-to?
Nice shocker.

I was going to make a write up on it but it's too simple. Cut off plastic ends and weld balljoint on in same position. Works great though

Barry, on the shifter side, the plastic end on the cable that connects to the ball joint on the shifter, does that have any sort of fail safe clip or does it just snap on and off stock? What is to keep it from falling off if you move it to first too hard/fast?

Are you talking about my modified shift cable or a stock cable?IsaacHayes wrote:Barry, on the shifter side, the plastic end on the cable that connects to the ball joint on the shifter, does that have any sort of fail safe clip or does it just snap on and off stock? Mine is bolted to the trans and the shifter
The stock cable just snaps over the stud on both sides(tranny and shifter). As the bushing wears, yes, it can just pop off.

Re: It all goes downhill at once!
Ugh, that is a horrible design. On the trans the bushing is missing, and the cable still stays on, but on the shifter, as soon as you move it, boom it just falls off and you are stuck in a gear in traffic and can get hit.. not cool. Mine won't even "snap" you push it on, it just drops off. There needs to be an eclip or something on there. Where did you get those ball joints? do you have a picture of the modified shift arm part?
Re: It all goes downhill at once!
I got the balljoints off my dad. He had them laying around at work.
I did not have to modify the shift arm on the trans at all, all I did was bolt it on. For the shifter, I drilled out the pin and just bolted it on. I had to grind some for everything to clear the nut on the other side though...

You can use one of those mini ty-wraps in that groove on the stud to hold the rubber bushing in place. Mine was like that for years before I finally got the booger racing bushings.IsaacHayes wrote:Ugh, that is a horrible design. Re: It all goes downhill at once!
Rodney, I think the main issue is my shifter in my car is not from a beretta. The ball-socket on the shift arm for the shift cable is large, short, and has no groove. See this thread:

Re: It all goes downhill at once!
Heres some updates:
Worked on the ABS issue today. With no way to scan codes I have to make do with a voltmeter and some wires running from under the hood into my sunroof.
Im only getting half voltage from the LF wheel sensor. Meaning that the sensor is bad, or 1 of the 2 wires is broke. I will fix that tomorrow.
My muffler is sagged down, I didnt tighten something I guess.
I got MSII for christmas. Ill look into upgrading that soon
Getting a custom braided SS clutch line made tomorrow morning.
Almost ready to get it on the road I guess.

Re: It all goes downhill at once!
You could have also just checked for continuity through the wires... Pull the ABS plug, and put a probe in that end and then in the other end near the sensor... that would tell you exactly which wire is broke... I did that on the red car and found it in seconds.Barry wrote:Im only getting half voltage from the LF wheel sensor. Meaning that the sensor is bad, or 1 of the 2 wires is broke. I have a way to pull ABS codes... or at least I know where a program exists that will work with DHP hardware... But I'm not paying $350 for it right now. It's not worth it to me quite yet.
Re: It all goes downhill at once!
I just do it that way to narrow down what wheel us causing the issue. I will measure resistance today to see if it's a wire or a sensor

Barry, check out on 60*v6.com for RobertiSaar. He made an ABS OBD1.5 definition for TunnerPro. As long as you have an ALDL cable, you can scan the thing now!
