Re: lbody headers...
you could get some of this kind of pipe to run under the engine until you get back into the tunnel.
http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.com/ ... 45*/Detail" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
obviously you will want straight pipe. i just used that page for an example.

Yup. What you see is what you get!
Beta test sets are sold out, and with a test car (thanks alan!) this is a perfect opportunity to make sure they fit perfect the first time.
We will continue to make more as long as they are selling, but simply can't do them this nice for same price.

Re: lbody headers...
Transmission clearance...

Oil pressure sender interference...

Coolant line clearance...

Dipstick clearance...

Right there where the jig is parallel to the group of primaries is where the other set was beat to death. Because I put two on top, there's ample room there...

and finally, the thermostat housing can be removed...

Re: lbody headers...
The motor I have has an extender, then a 45* fitting. It will be close, might have to go to 90*.
And the big wiring harness split loom (big sucker) will need re-routing, or switch to the smaller gear reduction starter so that it can be pushed down on top of the starter more.

I saw that post and thought he was coming out with something new. I also saw on Bstuff that I'm not the only one to think this. But, I still may change my sig and add that I'm Bnet's most mindless poster.

Re: lbody headers...
So far, so good...

Gen 2's will need to move the coil packs, and it looks as though the stock fan just might work if we cut a spoke off like Assylum did.
Can't have headers with 2" exhaust!!!
So Alan got a full mandrel bent 2.5" to the back...

Stock vs headers...

Heavy duty ball joints...

Re: lbody headers...
The fitment of those headers is making me want a set... My Steve Hamm set fits good, but was truly built for a 2.8/3.1. I had to angle my thermostat gooseneck up 10 or 15* to get enough clearance to be comfortable with the hose clearance.
Nice work man, can't wait to see some more pics eventually.

Re: lbody headers...
I'm pretty happy with my S&S set as well, BUT if these headers mate with a tig welder, and end up being equal length but does not require re-location of sensors or fan change then MAYBE I'll go for them. But with what I have I think I can make it work fine. I think Equal length is a bit more necessary with a N/A powerplant over a Nitrous one, but maybe it would still benefit me.
But right now its too much money for me to even think about it since I technically have a set that works perfectly fine.

Re: lbody headers...
There's no way around moving the oil pressure sensor - simple fix though), but the BIG stock fan fit on the test car by cutting a spoke off (and only a small piece of the shroud needs to be shaved a bit to clear when the car is under load).

Re: lbody headers...
Was that fan a 3 or 4 spoke? Mine has 4 mounting points. It's not the 96 slim motor fan, but I don't know if it's as large as the 93 and older fans?

Reason being your making equal length sets?Forced_Firebird wrote:There's no way around moving the oil pressure sensor - simple fix though), but the BIG stock fan fit on the test car by cutting a spoke off (and only a small piece of the shroud needs to be shaved a bit to clear when the car is under load).
Because it fits with my S&S set, but obviously those are not equal length. And I know that takes up extra space.
