Car running rough

Ok heres the scoop ...I have a 1990 Baretta 3.1 ....took the car in to get a emmission test the mechanic had to play around with the EGR to get it to pass.....since then the car will run great and the all of a sudden run like it is loaded up and the a few minutes later run good again.....very intermittenly.....sometime runs good for awile ...sometimes not......Put another EGR on ...same thing... changed gas fiter , plug wires still doing it.....I am thinking that there could be a hunk of carbon or crap in the injector that plugs it up once in awhile ......any suggestions?

Might want to look into a O2 sensor, or an ignition issue such as ICM or a coil.
