Need help with front bumper lights!! (z26 on base)
Okay i have 96 base and i got a z26 front bumper painted and when i took off my base's bumper i noticed the lights were different. The z26 bumper has 2 lights on each side and the base has one big one on each side. Now both bumpers have 2 bulbs and 2 plugs to go into each, The z26 bumper takes two big bulbs and 2 two prong plugs. My car has 2 small bulbs and 2 three prong plugs that went into the base bumper. i am trying to find some kind of solution. Has anybody ever ran into this problem before? Can anybody help with this problem? i would really like to put the front bumper asap. also i would like to keep the original setup of the four lights for the z26.
Thanks, Kyle
Thanks, Kyle

Im not entirely sure what you are trying to say here but this isn't as hard as it seems. I swapped over Z lighting into my GT which should be the same as your base. There is a marker light and a turn signal in the base/GT housing - the marker light goes away (can actually become your power source for the Z fogs if you'd like) and the turn signal goes into the Z signal lens. EASY!!!

Note though that if you use the base marker light wiring that you will not be able to turn your fogs on & off with your lights on.

Re: Need help with front bumper lights!! (z26 on base)
The base turn lamps have 2 bulbs in each turn lamp, whereas the Z04 bumper lights have only 1 bulb in each turn lamp. but have fog lights also. Different wiring is needed and a switch to operate the fog lamps.
For the turn bulbs, I believe the they disconnect a bit back from where the bulb sockets are attached and can be swapped to the ones for the Z lights, providing you KEPT the socket wiring or got them with the bumper! In other words, there is a pigtail that goes from the car wiring to the bulb sockets that are used in the turn lamp housing. This comes 2 ways: Z04 bumpers have 1 socket for Z lamps, and base bumpers have 2 sockets for base lamps. You simply switch them, as long as you have all the wiring from the Z04 bumper.
If you don't, you could do this I think: Only one bulb in the base style blinks. You can remove the bulb from the non-blink socket and tie it up, so that you can use the blinking one on the Z04 bumper. That will take care of your 2-1 problem.
As for the fogs, you have to have the fog light wiring harness or build your own, and add a switch to turn them off and on.
Good luck.

BTW.
You could ALSO just mount your base lights in the Z04 bumper instead, keeping that part of your car the same as it was. Just remove the Z04 fog and turn lights, and install the base turn lamps. They will fit fine, bolt right in and work like their supposed to. The steel bumpers are all the same, and the lights are interchangeable, regardless of the style. But if you wanted to have the fog lights working, you will have to modify/add in wiring for the fogs.

The fog lights are part of the main wiring for the lights, headlights, etc, and may be joined to the module, not sure. I know for a fact that the fogs turn off when you use the brights, etc. So that may not be as simple as you would like to hear. It may be simpler to install the switch, run your own wiring to power the lights themselves.
