Time for my BFEST 2010 PICS!

Post by DTMAce »

Howdy everyone! Felt it was time to share some of my pictures from bfest!

Got to meet some really dedicated beretta owners! This was Eric, changing the engine break-in oil, before heading to the drag strip on Friday.

Image

I think someone was trying to tell me something? Maybe my beretta was dangerous? LMAO

Image

Ahhh.. A nice day at the park Saturday afternoon... But trust me, the shade is where the cool people were. hehe

Image

Image

In the parking lot after leaving the nice park, so we can prepare to take our group photo's...

Image

Image

Shot of the cars... Unfortunately I did not get one with the cars all into position.... But it works. Lots of nice beretta's!

Image

Everyone that owned a beretta!

And lastly, I crossed a very important milestone, so I just had to take a picture. I was still about 200 miles from home. Yeah, 250 miles and was just coming off the 3/4 tank mark. This tank of gas let me drive 462 miles with just about 1/4 of a tank of gas left! Yeah, could have probably gotten 500 out of it. Done it before, can do it again. 32MPG on the next fill up too. You can even see it on Fuelly below. I love the MPG on this thing when taking trips!

Anyways, that is my set of pics! Enjoy!

Ace, how the hell are you getting mileage like that?? I could barely get 220 out of a tank with my old 2.8 in mostly city driving. =( I want awesome mileage too!

I got 267 on 12 gallons with my 3500 and 3.73 gears @ 3500 RPM (22.26 mpg)

Great pics Ace!

The good people at the Turkish-American Club re-paved the parking lot just for us. AND left some of the equipment behind for our pictures, LOL!

HAHA I'm right there with ya Eric... Lucky if I saw 275 on the trip before having to gas up. Approx $350 in fuel that weekend.

One thing to take into consideration there Ace... I got really good mileage with my old 3100 one year and come to find out, it was because the fuel pump was slowly dying and not pumping any fuel at WOT, so every and any time I did get on it, it still hardly used any gas. I was getting 400 miles to a tank or so.

Just something to check, get a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what it does when you mash the gas... Should be a steady solid 43PSI

More efficient motor and lower FDR = better highway mileage. Not to mention he has a 4spd vs your 3 spd.

I'm seriously contemplating getting a 3100 Corsica for tooling around in back and forth to work...

He's putting down more power than me and has more mods and I only got 26 at best on the highway going to NJ... granted the AC was on.

I have always had good gas mileage with this car since the day I bought it. Average miles per tank is around 350, but on a trip I can always get over 400 or more. The most I have done with one tank for certain was a trip between Cedarville MI to Greenville OH non-stop for gas. Was like 480 miles... I think. And I was just getting to the bottom of the gauge. lol

Thanks Eric. Yeah, yours is not setup for gas conservation. :P

Well, I have never ever tested the fuel pressure, but I have always had really good mileage, so not sure if there is a truth to this or not. I will admit that on this trip it seems to have been acting up, taking longer to start, etc. It may be that the pump could be going bad now, but I have been DD it all this week, doing hard WOT runs and it seems just as strong as ever. Odd really, considering. I really just think it now hates hot climate! lol And my current tank is going fast, since I have been pedaling it hard since I got back from Chicago. On trips I rarely get on it, and that may be part of the mileage too.

It's not just the turbo either, it's the AWD too. My truck spins the front diff all the time too and my mileage blows.

I don't want to rack up the miles on the Suby. I don't care about the mileage on the Z, but I would like to keep the front end looking half-way decent until I can afford a new paintjob (with clearbra this time) or pull a Woody/Jon and do a "restore" on a minimally rusted car.

I still get about 26 mpg in the Suby, but that's also with a boost leak from my broken top mount... so hopefully once I get my front mount installed along with my AOS (air-oil separator) then my mileage should go back up.

Hard starts can point to either the pump, or the fuel pressure regulator. When the rail can't prime then the first few sprays of fuel from the injectors are quite lacking and it wont start up well.

Geoff, you should know as well as I do, you can't have two toys... I thought you bought the Suby to keep miles off the Z... lol Also to me, miles are nothing... I could really care less. As long as its kept up it shouldn't matter, but when it does wear out, I'll just rebuild the whole thing.

Oh and its not the AWD... Amy has a EJ253 motor, basically the same damn thing, just lacking the turbo, it also has a higher gear ratio so she is turning more RPMs than I am at 70, and she can get 32-34 sometimes. She drove the LGT last weekend and her average for the tank was 24.9 Mine is typically 22-23 on a tank.
