Antenna

Post by Travelor »

Has anyone had to replace the antenna? I suddenly find myself without radio stations and checked to make sure everything was still connected before suspecting the antenna finally died. I always had weak signal no matter what radio was connected, but now I have nothing.

Antenna is a one time payment... Satellite is a monthly payment not many want to pay.

Yeah, I need to do the same thing one of these days. Seems to work fine for a while then it slowly loses stations. When I redid the interior it was fine for a while now its got about half of them. Weird, but then I used to have a dual purpose module wired in and had it calibrated once for a CB unit. Yes it had one, and yes I still have it, just not in the car. Fit right in the console and was wired to the factory antenna. Had about a mile of range, but it worked.

Why would I get satellite? I LIKE my local stations. And the fact that I don't have to pay is a huge plus.

Guess I'll goto Autozone and see what they sell...

Actually, quite the contrary... I completely paid my satellite.

Yes I know If my Legacy had come with a XM unit I probably would have done the same... But since I don't use the unit I have now I removed it and only pay for Amy's radio.

I'm very tempted to see what HD stuff costs....

Oh and Pat, I bought one of the automatic antennas AGES ago for my red car and It works good. Take some fabrication to fit since you need to reuse the angled mount for the antenna, but once in I loved the flush no antenna look when it was off.

I have the mount for the power antenna on mine... I don't even remember the last time I used the FM radio, I just leave the antenna down.
