"Unstoppable"

Went to the sneak peak of Unstoppable tonight. Was a really good movie, good action, good story, really well done all around. If anyone here are train buffs, its a must see. If your not a train buff but can appreciate a good action movie, its worth seeing! Just thought i would share some insight It premiers next friday.

being someone who works for the railroad, i can assure you theres no such thing as a "million ton" train, it would have to be like 40 miles long, 2, you have to be an idiot to trap the air in the cars behind the first car and not notice you have no air flow on the hind end of the train, and thats about the only way you could have problems stopping, but i didnt say you wouldnt be able to stop, becouse you still could, hollywood humor... not trying to bash anyone, just throwing some facts out there... hahaha.

Yeah well you cant blow up a golf course like Bill Murray did in caddy shack without using gallons of gas over just plastic explosives, but we all still love that movie... LOL

Its not really Hollywood Humor, but more of Hollywood impossibilities... its fun and entertainment we all enjoy watching.

The only thing I have an issue with this movie is how it seems to be somewhat biased off of "Speed"... Please tell me its put together a little bit better than that.

Oh trust me John, this movie was done way better than Speed was. There is some misconstrued facts here and there, but overall, they did a good job on it. It is an entertaining movie, well paced and only slow point really is the front of the movie during the character development.

So i read the railroads investigation of the actual event.

Nutshell version.

Track switch in wrong position.

Engineer applies brake incorrectly

Engineer jumps off train to change switch by hand (lawl)

Engineer fails to catch back up to train which doesnt slow down due to improperly applied brakes.

Railroad briefly considers putting another train on the track ahead to slow down runaway train.

They dont.

Train goes for 66 miles before stopping.

Since I work in the industry let me comment...

Now days the trains could be stopped automatically from a different location on any class 1 railroad.

Many locos in the movies were made by GM(made by EMD)

Most of the movie was made outside of Pittsburgh. My girlfriend is in it and I knew a lot about it last year at this time when it was filmed.
