Without the turbo it's really nothing all that special... The only good thing is the stock cross over assy... but even that should be re-designed. I don't even remember if they lowered the compression for it either. Also he is stretching the truth, there were more than a dozen to be had.

I remember reading that the block was made from more stronger stuff than stock 3.1...

edit: here it is:
The LG5 ("V-code") was a special 3.1 L turbocharged engine produced with McLaren for just two years, 1989 and 1990. It featured the same multi-port fuel injection intake manifolds and throttle body as the LH0, but cranked out 205 hp (153 kW) at 5200 rpm and 225 lb·ft (305 N·m) of torque at 2100 rpm. Approximately 3,700 engines were produced each year. This engine had a block with more nickel content and hardened internals.

This engine is notable, along with other GM turbo engines of the era (such as that found in the Typhoon/Syclone), for the ease with which significant performance gains can be realized with relatively pedestrian modifications.

Applications:

* 1989-1990 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo
* 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo STE

It's VERY rare, and is quite special and different actually! He's not saying they only made a dozen, he's saying that very few are left, and of those left, not many are for sale! With that being said, here's another one which much more included for a really good price by comparison!

I was going to mention that as well. That thing has been listed for a LONG time!
