Installing new speakers?

Post by Eddie »

OK, I got all new, 3 way speakers for the fronts and backs. I just need to know how to replace my old ones with my new ones. (Ok, I may be an idiot, but I'm 16 and I've never done speakers before.)

I just need to know how to get to the old ones. They are covered up by that felt trim. (I know where the speakers are, just not how to get the old ones out.)

My car is a 92 gt, and it still has the stock speakers in it.

Installing new speakers?

Im not 100% sure if in 92 they are mounted the same as in 94 but I think they are.  For the fronts, you need to remove the screws up near the top of the kick panels, then pull the kick panels out.  the speakers are mounted to the back side.  For the rear, remove the bottom of the rear seat, there are two bolts under the front edge of the seat that hold it in.  Remove the upper portion of the rear seat, two more bolts that are at the bottom.  Remove the rear window tray gently, do not bend it too much.  Remove bolts then speakers.
