Re: Got the velocity stack
You need a chrome one and mount it in your grill like a civic!
I actually have one of those on my 240, with a filter over it. I never had it stock though so who knows if it helped at all

Re: Got the velocity stack
LOL good one! I do have a K&N for it though. With the CAI I just don't think it will fit with out some way of getting around the washer bottle. And if I did that it would be damn close to turn signal lights(the tubing would be too long). Just wanted to show it here for the WAI people. It will be for sure going on the Cav and it's WAI. But I will check on the Beretta.

Re: Got the velocity stack
Interesting. I'd run one at the track with no filter. How much?

Re: Got the velocity stack
Alot of things like that are just gimmicks. Unless your make some insane power, they are pretty much a waste of money. Just my .02

Re: Got the velocity stack
reminds me of the tornado thingy. That was a dyno proven loss of horsepower.

Re: Got the velocity stack
Even still, most daily driven cars dont make enough power to take full advantage of it.

Re: Got the velocity stack
A little extra VE is what I'm looking for.
No haven't got it on the Eco yet, a bit cold to be working. Still need a reducer for it. I would like to try and cram into the Beretta if possible. Damn washer bottle.

Re: Got the velocity stack
Your Beretta doesnt need a washer bottle. Damn things are empty half the time.
You will never loose HP with a bit more VE. The Tornado did NOT give VE. And neither did that cigarette lighter powered turbocharger! haha
No matter how well you polish and port an intake, no matter how big you make your valves, and how well your engine pumps air, if you dont have good VE of air moving into the intake pipe, you wont make as much manifold pressure as you "potentially could" This has far more application than just how many more horses its going to give you.

Re: Got the velocity stack
What size is the outlet on the stack? or the side that connects to the intake pipe... I'm really thinking of getting one of these and just strapping it on the end of my MAF when at the strip.

Re: Got the velocity stack
It's for a 3in tube and the end is 6in OD. Made from Nylon so it's lighter than a metal one and doesn't transfer heat as much. Yeah 3X00 I had you and the other 1/4 mile people that run short rams in mind when I started my first topic on this. I would say it would be better to have it some distance from the MAF. That way your reading would be more dead on. But there is a problem with room. The cool thing is there may be no need to support the WAI at all if good renforced couplers are used.
You can look at the BPi site for dynos on Honda's with or without the filter or tune. They are just something of a basis to go off of. Almost useless for our engines, but you can get an idea of what's going on.
