Re: Clutch Replacement Questions
You realize Exedy is a Japanese original company right? Yes they are manufactured in the US, but thats like a Toyota...
But yes much better quality than a odd name brand from China.

Oh no, i know they are originally based from Japan and made in the states. Hell if the clutch i bought said made in japan, i would keep it cause it would still be better quality than "china" crap lol

Re: Clutch Replacement Questions
Valeo is hardly an "odd name brand". It's a french company which has made clutches for like 80 years.

Re: Clutch Replacement Questions
It may be a French company, but the disc with their name on it and the pressure plate both say "Made In China". I can deal with having the flywheel made in china, cause all steel things these days are anymore, but when it comes to parts like clutch disc and slave cylinders, i want american.

Re: Clutch Replacement Questions
I stand corrected, but it's odd to me. I've never seen that brand before. I'm familar with Saches, Exedy, Act, RAM and Clutchmaster, as far as decent brands.Cliff8928 wrote:Valeo is hardly an "odd name brand". It's a french company which has made clutches for like 80 years.
I know i left others out but those are the brands I know and some that I've delt with. We used a Saches clutch on the race car till the disc broke in half, we now have a Ram clutch... I think its just a Saches pressure plate sold by ram with a slightly different disc.
Valeo seems to be big with supplying ford with their clutches... I would rather slap in a Daikin aka Exedy clutch since thats what came from GM. Not saying that Valeo isn't good but just my preference.
