Need to Kill a Day in Vegas

Post by dhenderz »

Looking for some suggestions from some Vegas veterns. Due to some scheduling issues I am going to find myself with an entire day (Sunday) in Vegas with absolutely nothing to do. So what would you suggest is a worhthile thing to do? Couple of facts. I've never been to Vegas and I could care less about gambling (thus the explanation on why I've never been to Vegas).

I know there a ton of things to do in Vegas outside of gambling, but what would be really worthwhile? I've had one person recommend heading to the Hoover dam. Other thoughts?

The Hoover Dam was cool, but you've got to hit the strip. The Stratosphere at the end of the strip has a space needle with rides at the top (mini roller coaster, swing, big shot). The Rio has an awesome buffet, and it's about half price for lunch. MGM has lions and Mandalay Bay has sharks. Next time we go we'll hit more shows too. We saw "Fantasy" at the Luxor that was good, but there are a ton to choose from.

Then of course there's that other option: hahahahha

Definitely the Hoover Dam; go on the tour and check out the new bridge. The other suggestions Eric put up are good calls too.

If you indeed visit the dam, take a walk on the bridge. If you are into NASCAR, there are daily tours of the speedway. Also, just outside the speedway is a Shelby conversion center which also offers tours. There is def enough here to kill a day without dropping a dime...take a ride up to the top of the Stratosphere for an awesome 360* view of the vegas valley.

Walk down the main drag and collect as many of the hooker cards you can.

Bonus points if you collect the whole set!

Whee, tips for me too, since I need to kill 2-3 days in Vegas next summer, that does not included Hoover, driving there separately.
