More win for me today! UPS brought me the last of the parts im putting in the car for the time being.

Image

Whole thing looks to be made in Japan, but thats still better than China, and the slave/tob is USA made :D Moah win for me! Now, all i have to do is clean up the trans, get it painted, then i can marry to the motor and trans once again, and get them ready to go in the car! Getting closer ever still :D

Yes John, i decided not to turbo it for the simple fact that i want to keep my reliabliity, it was still gonna cost way too much, and i love the sound of an NA Quad screaming!

When you turbo a quad, you loose that coolass sound the intake makes when your shifting at 7k. If its turboed, you just hear a massive amount of sucking and then a blow off ;)

Same here. I have never heard a quad 4 sound. Only on youtube but the sound is not the same if I hear it in person. I have yet to see Berettas in my junkyard that have a Quad 4.Great work on the engine. I love the color scheme.

About half way thru there is a shot of my car coming at the camera, the sound the intake is making is exactly what it sounds like in person, cept louder of course :) When you turbo it, you loose that cool ass sound as its replaced with a *ssshhhhhhhhhhhh* sound

I always thought my quad4 sounded like a pissed off lawn mower. I never did get any vids of it, because that was way back in '02 when my broke ass couldn't afford a good digicam. haha

Daikin Clutch aka Exedy was always a Japanese brand...

If you ask me the SSSHHHHHHHHT sound is much more desired... lol At least by me.

My father inlaw and mother inlaw took my legacy back to his house one night and I caught up with him with his truck and when I passed him then he caught 4th gear and mashed the pedal... The sound was AWESOME... LOL

LMFAO @ Ron! lol I should have thought a lil more about that before i posted it lol!

2.2H8, thanks for the comment.

John, i had, for a short time, that 91 Saab 9000 Turbo that had an intake on it, and the BOV was pretty loud on it. I loved how it sounded, but to be totally honest with you, and your gonna look at this weird, but i really love the sound the intake pulses make thru an open cone filter :D And when you turbo a car, you take the sound away from it. And dont get me wrong, a car that sounds like it has a jet engine in it sounds cool, but you dont get that angry, aggressive sound from the motor till after it flies by. I love it sounding that way when its coming at you and as it goes by

He still makes them. If you dont want to wait for him, they pop up forsale often and sometimes unused!
What Cams are you using? HG2's?

Im using the stock W41 cams.

I also was thinking about this 3.5DOHC throttle body upgrade a couple guys on the Q4 Forums are working on and they came up with a rather easy way to port the manifold for the larger bore. Well that got me thinkin, if they did that to the manifold, why couldnt i do that a peice aluminum and make my own adapter for it, so guess what im gonna working on here soon hee hee :D
