Re: Ok...here we go!!!
Well in the beginning it looked like you were going 3x00... but unfortunately you were pulled back into the land of the MPFI...
LOL
Well I can only hope you did cam it before putting it all together. You could have also purchased a double roller chain for a 2.8L Camaro if you wanted to, and eliminated the rocker joint chain.

Re: Ok...here we go!!!
I remember reading somewhere that you have to make some modifications to the FWD timing cover if you want the double roller chain to fit? I could be wrong, but i thought i saw that on 60*V6 somewhere a while back.
Im still glad to see someone sticking with original type motor with their car too. Seems the only other people doing that is the Quad owners.

Re: Ok...here we go!!!
Thats if you want to use the double roler that was custom designed for the 3x00 motor. From what I remember the double roller that Cloyes sells for the 2.8 camaro fits any 2.8L and 3.1L engine. I could be wrong though.
Re: Ok...here we go!!!
The chain is a COMP cams piece and, IMO, a much stronger piece than factory. I didn't know about the Cloyes piece or i would have gone with it. And i did cam it...nothing extreme, a 260H grind from COMP. Installed the matching valve springs as well. Debated going with the 1.6 rockers but decided against it. Also went with the thinner, camaro head gaskets. Stuck with the stock pistons but, with the head gaskets, bumped the compression ratio to somewhere around 9.5:1. EGR is deleted and a WOT chip runs it. Factory exhaust is on it now and that was only so i could get it running. I will in the very near future going to be installing the 'newer' style exhaust manifolds and crossover including the 'header' style rear manifold and a full 2-1/2" exhaust.
