I love the last picture! You should go there when everything is alive again so the car has a bit more contrast against the land, and it would be amazing!

quick question... how many steps up and down did you use when doing your HDR?
like 1/150 being your starting shot then upping the exposure then underexposing how many steps?

Wow, sorry to take so long to get back to this...!
I sold my GT at the end of this past July. Needed too much work (typical: clutch and shifter cable) that I couldn't do myself, and that I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do for me. Sold it to a kid who A) loves Berettas and B) can do his own work. So hopefully my Beretta is in good hands.
As to the HDR questions... That pic is not really "genuine" HDR.
This result came about because I couldn't find a happy medium between the bright overcast sky and the details on the car in the original shot. To give you an idea of what the conditions were like that day, the top shot was taken the same day as the middle shot, but the middle shot was actually taken first.
To get the details in the clouds in the middle shot required mild underexposure, but that caused the loss of things like the highlights on the edges of the tires.
With the sun behind me in an overcast sky, exposing to keep the small details on the tires in the top shot resulted in a sky that was a bit too blown out. I just couldn't find the right combo of speed and aperture. So, I cheated... I took the best shot into Lightroom, adjusted it basically the equivalent to two stops up and two stops down (maybe less, I can't remember for sure), combined the resulting shots with the original in HDRtist, and adjusted the results the way I felt worked best.
And I took the car back a few times to the place where I took the bottom pic - when everything was alive and green - but the people who own the land always keep that gate closed now (not sure why it was open the day we were there).
