4/26 -- More 1990 Indy Yellow Pics

Post by indyyellow »

Well here are the first pics of the car. The boy took them so they are not great.
Car is 98% rust free. Looks like one to save if only for the "nothing like it on the road" look of the car. http://www.yesfans.com/beretta/beretta.htm

The worst part will be getting the interior back to decent and stopping the various water leaks it has. So this summer out comes all the interior, clean it up and then drench it and see where the damn water is gettintg in.

looks like its a litttle faded on back half of the car but it could be lighting too or bad camera

most common area is near the steering rack area on passenger side so i would look there

Yea I am about to post more pics. The car is faded in the rear. I think the car was a carport car and the rear was in the sun a lot. The car has not been wrecked as far as I can tell and there are no repaint lines anywhere. When you lift the truck, there the spoiler was over the side of the rear panel, it is a nice yellow there. I think the clear coat went funky, because where it has peeled off the paint is a nice yellow. Oh well, who knows. Ha ha ha
It is a kids first car, so my task this summer is to get it dry (keep in garage, no rain driving) and this early summer pull everything out of it but some seats and figure out the water issues, track down some better interior parts, and a few other things before he goes live in Sept with drivers lic.

Just some info.. missing Beretta windshield banner, 500's not straight, front bowtie should be red. Most dealers put banner on windshield. Also if I can ask how much do you think you'll put into this car, stock or modded?

I have been told that most of the stickers came from the factory in a bag to be installed at the dealer and that not all stickers were put on the car, I guess based on what buyer wanted. Very possible the windshield has been replaced.

Anyway, look up the 90 Indy car on google images. The emblem set up on the cars range from few emblems on the cars to all of them, some with windshield emblems to none, some with the 500 tilted, some not so tilted or not there at all (as stated in another thread from folks that sounded like they worked at the dealer back in those days that say these things also). Based on that I'd have to buy into the bag of emblems in the trunk, buyer chooses what ones he wants on his car.
I don't think I have a fake. If so someone when through a lot of problems to make it one. Put Indy seats in it, do most of all the decals, make sure they had a GT car, mine is, get the Indy inset for the dash, etc.
As for the red bowtie, that faded, I know the silver letters on the back of the car running across the tail light are just black now. back then GM made some crap stuff, i would'nt exspect it tolast this long with out issue. ha ha ha
If it is a fake, can you really tell? I am sure the Vin does not point out if it is one or not. My studies of the car leads me to beleive it does not.

Looks like someone cross flipped the wheels too. All 4 wheels should have the spokes pointing toward the front of the car ;)

They, amongst the rest of us, are obsessed about Berettas... there are people here that know WAY too much about these cars...
