What/where are these, stumped!

Post by indyyellow »

1990

#1 Up front mounted almost dead center behind the grill is some device with wires going to it, as if it is air bag sensor but this car of course it has no airbag. Anyone know what this is?

#2 The wiring harness going into the firewall on drivers side. There are two bundles of wired going into firewall, the set on the right has a red wire with a connector on the end that is just coing out of harness and looks like it would go into the firewall like the rest of the wires but it is not. just laying out there, looks like it has never been connected.
Any IDEA?

#3 Where is the frigging hook up's to put freon in the AC system???

Your car must be equipped with a Digital Dash. That is a temperature sensor.

That is a fuel pump override. It is supposed to be there like that.

Your 1990 Beretta was equipped with R-12. Since this is not readily available you either have a car that is converted or you must do some conversion. If its already done the high and low ports are in front of engine behind radiator. It should be around your front exhaust manifold not too far from oil filter when you look from bottom. You may need a long hose. To do your a/c properly invest in a new drier, clean system out with alcohol, add R134 compatible oils, then get it recharged. The values are slightly difference. Those conversion kits are still out there but getting harder to find as almost everything 1994 and newer is converted.

The red wire is not connected into anything, just has a female end on it.

Read above. Its an override..its a diagnosis port just like the plug under your dash. On some cars the OBD has the fuel pump override but on Beretta's its in the engine bay. Most EFI systems from GM have fuel pump override. Just leave it alone and don't even stare at it funny.

Wrong. Low pressure port is on the drier under the battery.
