Advance Auto Price Matching

Post by pghturbo88 »

Yes, we all love Rock Auto. They had the muffler hanger strap that I needed for my minivan (Walker # 36234) for $27.93, including shipping. However, I needed the part today, and did not want to wait the 3-4 days for my order to arrive. The same exact part was $35.99 at my local Advance Auto Parts. I called the store, and asked if they price match, and they said yes, even from website auto stores. They told me to print off the item, with shipping charges posted. So, I got the part at Advance for $27.93, and they even accepted a $5 coupon (off of a $25 purchase) I had from an Advance mail flyer! I have part in hand, and with my coupon, actually paid less. Even got to offload about three gallons of used motor oil. Just a good FYI when you are parts shopping.

Yep, that is a cool system they have going. However, sometimes RA is the only place to have what I need. Just my .02

Agreed. Rock Auto has a huge selection, and they have great service! And Rock Auto has numerous brands to choose from (including AC Delco for our Chevy's), not just one "house" brand that Advance may have for an item. But for items that the two retailers have in common, it beats waiting for a package to arrive at the front door.

As long as they have the same brands I don't mind doing that, but I do find RA to have a larger choice of brand... And 90% of the time the part I need is not stocked either.

I'm also a fan of not relying on some parts guy whom I can out "parts-hustle" with my eyes closed. ;)
