I'm not saying that the car wouldn't make it Kurt... Heck I drove it out to Wyoming last year just because (Jon and Amy are my witnesses!). I was saying that I'm more than likely opting to bring the other two cars for the first time since '07!KFLO 93 GT wrote:Bah! Re: 10 years on this forum
Thats not fair though... some of us got cars that were just not able to last that long. At 74k my red car had rusted door jambs... it was a lost cause from the start. It now has like 324k if not more on it... so I did put 250k miles on it... I can't complain there.KFLO 93 GT wrote:Bah! Re: 10 years on this forum
Jon... you've always gotta make stuff about yourself...
<--- note the wink.
When I suggested this prior to the last fest nobody was up in arms about it. And it was suggested with the complete and same premise then as now.
I don't see the point in a decade club shot that includes cars that have only been in the community for a few years. Plain and simple.
I think it'd be great to have a group people shot for those who have been around the community for more than 10 years, but let's not confuse that as an issue of fairness with a decade club car shot.
edit: and I'm not trying to exclude you or your car. I think you have the nicest car in the whole community, and your level of work and quality of detail shows. But it has only been on the forums for a few years... If you drug old red across the country - I'd welcome it into the shot with open arms.
edit x2: When it comes right down to it - I don't really have any say so on who is in the shot - and I'm not trying to make an argument out of it - that totally defeats the spirit of such an event.

Re: 10 years on this forum
Well I'm not speaking of simply myself. There are others who have been around for a long time that fall into that category, just to specify it, your looking for a Decade+ OWNER photoshoot. Wording is everything. And yes I see the wink...
I was just thinking that also a "Decade Member photoshoot" could simply show those who have been around for 10+ years and stuck with the crowd... Regardless of what happend to their original beretta vs currently owned one.
I think it would be cool to have both of those photos, just to show the member base who have stuck around, and then those who are lucky enough to still have the original car they got when the joined the group.
Red's last trip was Niagara... There was just no chance it would have made Charlotte or Chicago... and now its even worse... LOL

Re: 10 years on this forum
I think that both are good ideas. This year there shall be a decade club shot. We'll pet the sweaty details then.
One more edit: I think it'd be sweet to have the decade club shots done at night by one of the members with a sweet camera. Kelly certainly comes to mind there, however, she may be in the shot. The Decade shot, regardless of the details, will have a lot of sweet cars in it - and groups of sweet cars always look KAPOW! when photo'd at night with sweet lighting.
Truthfully, if it's a decade shot based on being a forum member for 10+ years - I won't be eligible. That'd make the cutoff June 2001 for community join date, that might cut several people out... I know Baims would be out, possibly Jon and HWoody?

Maybe we are jumping the gun here on a Decade MEMBER shot... Because yeah I think your right I wont fall under that since I think I joined here in 02... I have no way of finding out though other than digging through my e-mails but I have no idea if my storage goes back that far.
Whats the current list of decade owned member cars?
Cack

Has Baims had his 91 for 10yrs?

Re: 10 years on this forum
Baims got his 91 in December of 1999. I got my 93 in June of 2000. Paul Keller is that group, Cliffy I believe would have his GT in the shot.
Beyond that it gets foggy for me, and Kelly has only had her Z26 for like 8 or 9 years IIRC. Although it may be 10 now... I dunno.
It could get way tough trying to establish join dates, I know my emails don't go back that far. Maybe this should be more like 10+ years of Beretta involvement, photoshoot.

lol I'm confused... hahaha
Re: 10 years on this forum
Unless you are referring to those that are both a member and owned the car 10 or more years..... I think I qualify for that list. LOL But no, not a member for 10. Re: 10 years on this forum
I don't think it matters if you've been a member for 10 years, there is no way to tell... my date is messed up because something was wrong with my login and the only way Bryan knew how to fix it was to delete me and add me back on.
You rule out the Little's as well if you go by that ruling.
I say go by the purchase date of your Beretta... and not by the most recent one if you've had more than 1 car.

Re: 10 years on this forum
I like Geoff's idea.... less picky! It is a feat in its own to own one of these cars for that long, and even more so to have been on the forum for that long. Purchase date of your first Beretta, plus still being an active member counts for me!
