Interested in the timing covers (both inner and outer) and the HG2 cams.

Re: Quad 4 086 Head
I can get to a total. I am trying to think of what price is for the cams and what i am comfortable letting them go for. They have some use but not much. $400 for the pair.

You going to Bfest? Maybe could just get the head from you there to save shipping?

Question on the cams. Were you told they were hg2's , assuming it, or have you measured the lift to be sure?ErichZ26 wrote:I can get to a total. I am trying to think of what price is for the cams and what i am comfortable letting them go for. They have some use but not much. $400 for the pair.

I didn't know what HG2 was until you mentioned it. But these are the same spec with .240 lift.SuzukiGhostRider wrote:Question on the cams. These are what we called W41 Grind #2 cams. Powertec(corrected from previous post) had these made about 11 years ago...of which i bought them in 2001 . I bought them with my +/- 4 degree cam gears.
Adam Mufford had a website up long ago and the specs of these were in there. He had collected known information off the mailing lists at the time.
If anyone in this forum went to Bfest Milwaukee i had these sticks in there. There was no program at the time to run them with my otherwise stock engine. The car loped....it could have benefited with higher compression and proper tune. I also was uncertain to where i was to clock the cam gears with these cams. I found the forums at the time little help. They were yanked with barely any use and new OEM W41 cams have been installed. I have held on to them all these years thinking I might want to try them again in another application. Now that I see there were more of these made and it looks people call them HG2?
I do know that original Q4 blanks are gone. I thought i was one of the only people with W41 Grind #2 cams.
In recent years i noticed that Q4 blanks became available and it looks like people had some made. I was vacant from the Q4 online scene from 06. And have followed up very little other than what is posted on this forum. I was invited back to the Quad4 forums last fall by the new regime over there.
I welcome any doubt but there are members of this community that saw my car and know i have some cams with lope with a history of myself inquiring about getting these to run right on my stock engine.
IF I can find it, i may even have the original Powertec invoice. IIRC they were like $650. I have moved many times since buying these.

Re: Quad 4 086 Head/ Powertec W41 #2 cam set/ Q4 parts
I was cleaning the head. It is a real 086 head. It looks like it may have been repaired. The head has never been media blasted, probably hot tanked. It looks like it may have been welded/repaired. It was used for some time enough to show carbon build up but not much. It had a felpro gasket on it. My 1990 GTZ has a 086 head that i had done in 2001. I paid over $300 to get my head cleaned, checked, and repaired. I am trying to figure out if there are any re-crack between the valves in cylinder 1.
I have talked about seasoned heads...this one i am selling is a good one!

Re: Quad 4 086 Head/ Powertec W41 #2 cam set/ Q4 parts
Ok, Erich cool. I think I'll definitely be wanting the cams and I for sure want the complete '91 TC Housing. PM me a total shipped to 87021 please.
Oh, and for reference the reason we refer to the W41 Grind #2 cams as "HG2" cams is because the W41 cams are referred to as Hot Grind 1 cams. Thus the W41 Grind #2 is known as "Hot Grind 2" cams , hence the HG2 abbreviation.

I've seen people using HG2 name with 2 different cam sets, 224°/.430 and 226°/.410
