They've been around way longer than that. From what I gather, they're not mountable right out of the box, unless you need a replacement for a Quad powered U-Van

And there was something about having to swap the guts to an American version of the trans because those are EURO version for the vans over there and the trans mount DOES NOT line up right nor do the bosses. Also, as I recall the gearing is NOT 3.94 FDR. It's an oddball , like 3.78 or somesuch. This was vigorously discussed on Q4F when these first popped up.
