Newest idle vid with my Canon camera... Sounds mucho better on this camera. I noticed it also makes it sound a little more pingy than it is in person... But it sounds sweet.

Image

I've been driving it a bit here and there and I know I need to do my accumulator shims... 2-3 is a very soft shift with the stall converter and 1-2 is nothing to write home about.

Pulls like a mofo up top, and with 3.69 gearing it pulls in 4th easily getting it up to 125 quickly, where you have your life flash before your eyes before you realize that 125mph is TOOOOOO fast for a Beretta. She'll be limited at 115 or 120 if that when I start tuning.

Already had to raise the top of the maf table to make up for a lack of fuel up top but other than that she is performing very well.

So far I walked a newer style Mustang getting on the higway, I dont think he was expecting that in the least, but I was pulling from 50 to 115 and he couldn't catch me at all.

Well I got ragged for my vids on bstuff... some kids saying the 60-80 acceleration is the same as their stock Z26... I highly doubt that and I don't think they would be saying that if they were in the passenger seat..... But here ya go.

Getting on the higway at about 50 and up to 115

60 or so mph run to 110

And the idle with straight pipe instead of the cat... I need a resonator.

LOL

Here is a 0-90 vid Wheel spin sucks. Had to feather the gas quite a bit.... and comparing this vid with the one below you can see the torque converter difference. I'm curious how much stronger it may pull with a lesser stall converter.

OH and here is an acceleration vid with my STOCK 3100 in my red beretta.

AND you cant forget the ole 100 shot on the 3400... This was as good as it was....

So yeah found this local on Craigs List for $100 bux, just needs some edge and one corner repaired...

they are $549 new plus shipping...

so even if I spend $200 on body work to fix it, I'm still ahead.

Oh yeah for those that dont know... Full US-Body heavy duty 2" cowl hood, uses stock hinges and latch.

Well here are some updated pics...

For those that don't know the whole car was stripped and fully re-painted base/clear style...

Just brought it home last night. Now the exterior matches the performance of the car... OH and now time to install the nitrous :)

Well, things are going pretty good lately...

Nitrous 100% installed, but my nuts still need to grow a little before I test it... LOL, I mean come on, I took a 15.3 stock 3400 and put it in 13.818 realm... Now I have a car thats doing 13.9 now AND has a cam setup for nitrous... Jesus I'm gonna need a LONG dead straight to test this on and a fresh pair of undies for after.

A few pics of the install.

I may change out the 100 shot jets for a set of 75's for the first run...

Ben, the spacer with the nitrous fitting,(awesome option BTW) BUT that should be threaded like 1 or 2 more turns at the least... I had to go back and forth and get that sucker in there... When it first bottomed out, or got tight enough to work, it was about 1 1/2 turns shy of the fuel tube being flush with the inside bore, I didn't want to restrict any flow.

Grab a fogger nozzle if you can and do a test fit if you have that at your disposal so you can see what I mean.

Currently the purge is setup to do an X across the windshield from the corners of the cowl... it will look neat.

The other projects I have on deck right now are my brake upgrades... You J-body guys will appreciate this.

I'm doing the N-body F-body front setup, N-body knuckles, bearings, ball joints and outer CV's and F-body baskets, calipers, pads, and rotors...

And for the rear the Neon sport rear disc setup... Currently trying to source someone to machine my brackets... Anyone?? I'm not registered on J-body org but if someone is and they know of someone doing the brackets still PLEASE let me know. I have everything but those to complete it.

Parts pile. Add to that, two new Timken Bearings, two new Ball joints. Front calipers in the mail, hopefully, and then I just need to order rotors and pads... Any suggestions on brand?

Monday Update

Haven't driven it much at all, just up the road and back to make sure all is well. Need to schedule an alignment soon... so I can drive it.

Picked up my rear neon brackets today, I'll post pics of those later.

Fitting everything.

Just need to reconnect e-brake cable, adjust it, and then go to bleeding the system. While I was there I also put my steel braided lines up front to finish that swap off.

Don't worry Ben... Nitrous times and vids are hopefully coming soon... Our Beretta meet has unfortunately been hacked down to a 1/8th mile track, so I may have to go before. But I will get Dyno numbers... Mine may not show up as what its capable of thou since I have conformation, the converter I put in is a 3195 stall converter, so that may play with my dyno numbers.

Final pics of the car with 4 wheel disc :)

Now I just need to swap out my converter AGAIN... the PDQ one brake stalls WAY too high... I can get 4200rpm before the car starts to almost overcome the brakes... I was hoping for like 3500 or something like that but I guess not... time to go back to my 2095 converter and hope for the best. I think the NOS will take care of any low spots it may have after a shift ;)

With running N/A I realized I had to rev the piss out of it since my gears are so wide, and once it shifted it would almost bog for a second with how the power band is on my cam... so I was hoping to eliminate that with the higher stall, but this freebie option didn't work out like I wanted it to... I already owned it so really it only cost me a fluid change...

Well, went to BerettaFest in Charlotte NC and the car ran like crap at the dragway... It was only a 1/8th, but a stock 3400 5-speed combo was faster than me, and I was 8 tenths off my fastest 1/8th time. Only thing I could point the finger at was my increased valve train noises this year over last... I was thinking the lifters are finally done supporting those springs... At least I hope thats it.

Compression is 175 at every cylinder, 4 pumps each one, on a cold motor after sitting for a week or so. So thats good, heads will stay on this tear down.

So on with the LS6 lifter mods... I ordered my Metal Fel Pro gaskets yesterday, the should be in on Friday so I can work on it that night and saturday and hopefully have it back together and running.

Here are the parts I swapped... Stock is on the right the LS6 is on the left.

January 2010 progress so far... Worked on it Wednesday.

Pulling trans next weekend OR Monday the 18th... then getting motor out.

Image

Image

Image

I hope the inside of the trans is a direct reflection of how red the fluid still was, I was quite impressed with how clean it was, so hopefully that's a good sign.

I was also pleased with my woodstove install... I got home around 3:30 or 4 and started it, and I was out there at around 4:30, obviously then it was still chilly, but by 5:30 it was quite comfortable to work in there... My hands weren't cold and if I did get a chill I could just walk over and warm up easily. But by 6 it was significantly warmer in there than it was outside... So I figure if I go to work out there on the weekend if I fire off the stove at 6 in the morning come in, do stuff around the house, eat something and then go out the garage will be quite comfortable...

And to get this result wit still no insulation at all I'm impressed and happy. I can't wait till I insulate it.
