Spark plugs

I used the search engine but couldn't find much info on plugs. Maybe it's just common knowledge that I don't have. Anyway, so I got some Taylor plug wires, now I need a decent set of plugs. What should I get for my 3.1? I'm all factory.

I like the ACDelco #41-101. They're a premium iridium plug designed for the newer 3400s, but interchange to the Gen II just fine.

I too like Iridium's. In fact they're ALL I use in any of my cars anymore. Snappier throttle response and sometimes, even increased fuel mileage (minimal, maybe 1 mpg, but still...). I like the Autolite Iridiums though. They run about $8 a plug but seem to be fantastic.

Hmmm. Did some quick digging, and I see that the benefit of an iridium plug is that it uses a smaller electrode, which makes for a more efficient spark and less strain on the ignition system. I thought it was simply another electrode material (like platinum) that stretched out the maintenance interval. I know that my Accord has them, but I may have to conside trying four in the LeBaron.

EDIT: Just ordered four NGK's from Rock Auto. When I put them in, I'll provide feedback (even though they will be going into a Chrysler product! If I like them, maybe I'll try six in the Beretta!)

I run the 41-101s in my 3400 - couldn't be happier on all accounts. Great throttle response, power, and fuel mileage.

I'm questioning if I can successfully run these with nitrous with the high melting point tips... I would still get something 2 degrees cooler and all but if that would work then I would be much happier... NGK v-powers are nice but they wear out so quick.

Put the four iridium NGK's into the LeBaron turbo the other day and they have not disappointed. Nothing Earth shattering, but I do notice a smoother idle, and a lot less engine vibration under load (such as during a hill climb). I will evaluate over a longer period of time to see if there is any difference in MPG. Now I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger for the Beretta. Any opinions? NGK and Bosch iridiums are about the same price at Rock Auto, but the Bosch have a $2 each rebate going on. Did not buy the Bosch for my Chrysler as the application had a note on it "except Turbo." The Bosch has a funky looking four prong ground -- never saw that before.

First things first, on the Beretta, need to replace the PS cooler pipe -- nice oil puddle underneath the passenger side of the car. Picked one up at Advance yesterday, thirteeen bucks, just need to put it on. Had a nice convertible ride on the way over to pick it up.

I don't really like the bosch design for the GMs as much. They seem to be hit-or-miss with waste-spark ignition systems. For what it's worth, the ACDelco iridium plugs are at least partially manufactured by NGK.
