timing chain tensioner removal???? HELP
not to sure what just happened wrote up an entire post and it asked me to login and i lost everything.
i am in the midst of redoing the head gasket in my 1990 beretta gtz 2.3L quad
having a little problem with the timing chain tensioner, is there a trick to get this out? i need to somehow remove the tension but i am a little puzzled of how to do that?? all i see are the 3 bolts holding it in place and the bumper
any words of encouragement and advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Re: timing chain tensioner removal???? HELP
Just unbolt it and pull it out after removing all three timing chain guides FIRST. Of course, I presume the motor is timed to TDC? Getting the load all the way down and the pin in the keeper hole to keep it compressed prior to removal is next to fucking impossible. Just unbolt it and pull it out. Resetting it is the fun part.
And it should only be TWO bolts holding it in place. There's a third BEHIND the tensioner but that's for the inner TC cover.
