Replacement fuel lines?

Post by dhpanic »

I have a leaking fuel line coming for my gas tank, I'm pretty sure its the send line and its leaking right from where it comes out of the tank. I don't know where I can find a replacement one, can anyone help me out?

Are you speaking of the metal section that emerges from the tank, then connects to a flexible hose? If you are speaking about the metal part, that is part of the fuel pump assembly. See link below for an example of what one looks like (check Rock Auto for your application). Wow, these things have come way down in price -- a few years ago I remember paying a lot for this when mine rusted out. You will have to lower the tank to change this part, if that is what is leaking on your car.

If it's the fuel line that runs to the front of the car, I got a replacement from GM that was all the fuel & brake lines bundled together with all the plastic brackets, etc included. It rusted out during the winter though, so in a pinch I got a length of straight fuel line from Napa and bent it to fit and hooked it in with a compression fitting as a temporary fix.

I haven't gotten a good chance to get under and look at it, been busy with my new job driving all over the place, and the days I have it rains. Once I get a chance to look under it I'll snap some pictures of it, Im hoping it's not from the fuel pump, that'd be a pain in the ass.

If it's leaking right at the tank it is NOT the line that runs to the front of the car. It's the sending unit line.

Ive finally found the leaking line, it's either one of the lines that run behind the gas tank parallel to it, or both of them. my battery died while I was doing my oil change (probably shouldnt have had the radio blasting while doing it), but I'll jump it with my other car and then I'll know for sure.
