World's fastest T56 6spd

Post by woody90gtz »

Watch this video, it's ridiculous how violent the acceleration is...it's like my car x2. Shooting nitrous out of the hole on a 6spd with wrinkle wall slicks. It gets me pumped to go and pound some gears!

He's a monsta' out there! Thats the best Drag vid I ever seen! Makes me wanna drop da 95 on a camaro chassis and just build and build and build! Is that possible? I don't even know, I guess anythings possible, but that is absolutly SICK! 90% of the opp. got the jump off the line, then they're just complete TOAST! Fuggin sweet!

He makes launching a 6spd look easy. I guess maybe once you get the setup figured out it is, but I'm not there yet. haha Drag radials just don't cut it. I've been told I'll need true slicks for it to work, and that's what this guy is runing (and some 90/10 shocks it looks like).

It also sounds like he has some tall ass gears in the rear end... in the beginning he's in 1st gear for a decent amout of time, he can gather the pull from leaving the line before he has to shift so thats geared really tall... As well as hitting 155 in 4th gear only. IIRC your not having trouble launching... your having trouble breaking crap... so that means your parts just aren't tough enough yet... Your still working out the weakest links... and I don't think you have much left.

I have traction problems too. My best times have been pussyfooting it. If you dump the clutch it tire shakes with the drag radials. Even with the traction bars. A wrinkle walls has a little give to cushion the hit. It looks to me like he spins through first gear really quick and then hits second when he's on spray.

I dont miss trying to launch the 6 speed. The tires play a huge role in the launch. either you go or you dont

Great transmission, but tough to drag race. I need to hit the strip more than once or twice every two years to get the hang of it.
