My 3.1 V6 Turbo Swap/Restoration
I was formally RollingRock213 over on bstuff, I had a thread there about my ongoing engine swap to the 3.1 V6 turbo from a Turbo Grand Prix. I decided to join the beretta.net board to try to still stay active in the community. I my car was originally a red 1993 gtz, however now it's modified, for those of who don't know me. I decided to replace everything brand new on the front end, the subframe, sway bar, and subframe brace have all been powder coated, as long as most of the parts on the engine, minus the block and heads. I took out the A/C components to give me more room, the engine has an upgraded Crane H-265 cam, ford yellow top injectors, and a Melling high flow oil pump. I'm sticking with the stock T-25 turbo until I get my car officially running, but a larger turbo will be installed in the future, the engine will be installed this weekend. I also had the transmission rebuilt, however the torque converter is a 2800 rpm stall converter for the boost. I stuck with the stock 3 speed transmission because the Turbo Grand Prix transmission was 2 inches too wide and mounting it would have been extremely difficult. Let me know what you guys thinks and I will post pictures of the progress through out the week.

Re: My 3.1 V6 Turbo Swap/Restoration
I was beginning to wonder what happened to ya. Glad to see your still around! Car still looks good man even with the dust. Although, i think the routing of the belt on that water pump is gonna spin it backwards. Its supposed to spin the pump counter-clockwise, i think that setup will make it clockwise wont it?
Keep up the good work!

Re: My 3.1 V6 Turbo Swap/Restoration
good catch, he does have the belt to the wrong side of the WP pulley... Smooth side of belt to smooth pulleys.
Re: My 3.1 V6 Turbo Swap/Restoration
Yeah, he will probably need the A/C Delete to fix that. And that thing looks sharp man, nice work!

Ya, I do have the A/C delete pulley on there, I know the belt is on the wrong way, I just threw it on to see if I have the right one which I don't think I do now sadly. For the Beretta engine mount to work on the TGP motor, you have to use the Beretta alternator mount which changes things a bit, with the TGP timing chain cover, I'll have it figured it out hopefully haha. I forgot to mention I also installed poly mount all around and the poly engine mount from car customs. I couldn't find a poly mount for my 18mm sway bar so I had to use the stock mounts for them unfortunately.

Energy Suspension 9.5155R for red poly bushings for the GTZ front swaybar. You'll have to modify the grease fitting a bit tho.

Yep I bought the energy suspension bushings for that size, but the bushing doesn't fit inside the OEM bracket and I didn't feel like making a custom bracket hoping it would work or fit between that groove in the subframe, so I decided to stick with the ones that were originally on the car.

I know I've seen that car before... You were in Detroit in '07 right?
Car looks real good, especially for a northern car... Keep up the good work and let us know how it goes!

DUDE! RollingRock! Glad to see you over here man. I missed you and your ride. Progress looks GREAT bro! Two big thumbs up. I've always loved your car but you already knew that!

Re: My 3.1 V6 Turbo Swap/Restoration
You just need to bend the brackets that came with the new bushings, it's really a piece of cake and takes couple minutes.Jar_Of_flies83 wrote:I didn't feel like making a custom bracket
Oh, and welcome back.
