What was wrong with the chain? The double roller chains in my experience just don't really go bad.
The noise was from the pump

Suck it Chad.
Yup, Jon beat me to it Ace. TC driven. Nice try though.
The only reason the ABS light threw me a tad is because it was the ONLY light or gauge coming on or acting up, which is UNusual when losing an alt. Gauge will read low, etc. Mine didn't dip more than a tad under half, and then when it failed it went off the deep end in low red, lol.
So anyhow, wasn't pleased with the alt's charging capacity that I threw in the car. So.... I went and grabbed what appeared to be a fairly recent replacement in a '94 GA at the junk yard. The one I put in yesterday was only pulling about 10.5-11.0 volts. I put the GA alt in and wala. Charging around 14 volts all the time as it should.
$20 well spent. *cancels $100 alternator order*
ACE:
I DO however apparently owe you an apology on one front. I was noticing (as I'm paying ALOT more attention to my alt gauge atm) that the Quasar and all my other Quads, Beretta or not, ALL seem to flicker the gauge JUST slightly in rhythm with the blinkers, or hazards. I remember telling you that was bull. My bad dude. You were right. Never seen any other car besides a Beretta or a Quad do that.
SEE! I DO admit when I'm wrong.

Oh, interesting little side note. The '94 GA I pulled the alternator from with a LO Quad had the "Big Three Upgrade" done on it. I guess someone else around here read about that too!

Sounds like this would be his next upgrade.3X00-Modified wrote:Your pucker will smack the windshield when you do...SuzukiGhostRider wrote: DEFINITELY doing the Vette brakes and rear Neon's on this car....
If you ask me the N-body brakes are sufficient and weigh significantly less than the F-body rotors so it wont kill your acceleration as much.

Which? My pucker smacking the windshield or doing the brakes?3X00-Modified wrote:Sounds like this would be his next upgrade.3X00-Modified wrote:Your pucker will smack the windshield when you do...SuzukiGhostRider wrote: DEFINITELY doing the Vette brakes and rear Neon's on this car....

Yes, brakes are high on the list.
Fresh struts and shocks too.
Re: 1992 Quasar Beretta GTZ - Top end swap completed! Vid up
Well if your struts are bad, it could certainly effect your stopping power. And how efficiently your water pump works.
