3500 zx2?

I don't know if anyone would know if a 3500 would fit in a Ford escort zx2? I've always liked the look of these cars and I would love to put a V6 in it.
Thoughts?

It will probably fit fine. Some of the contours came with a v6 didnt they for some special edition? There engine bays are very similar.

Yea I think I saw a 32 valve dohc v6 in a contour but the zx2 (2 door escort) is smaller than a contour.

Yeah, the Contour SE and SVT both came with a pretty big V6. \

As to the escort, anything is possible, but plan on rewiring, a custom ECM, removing and welding in new mounts all around, custom drive shafts, and a slew of other things that come with doing an "out of the norm" drivetrain transplant.

There was a Rouch that had a V6. No joke, talked to a guy that had one.

Hell, I know a guy who put a 350/350 combo (350 small block/350 Turbo transmission) in a friggin' Chevette! No joke. I rode in it. Thing was INsane!

Anything is possible with enough determination and fabrication.

i have seen a mazda 2.5 v6 (from a ford probe or mazda mx6... near the same as the 1.8 v6 in the mx3's) installed in a 91-96 ford escort, the zx2's came with a 2.0 lt i think it was. should have no problem tossing one of those into it, and would keep it kinda in the family! (hey- inbred car?)

i had a 91 escort gt, they are really light and fun... miss it.
