stripped torx bolt.....no back seat cover for me :(
events in happened in this order:
bought a bench seat cover for the back @ advance auto
bring it home, realize the seat has to come out
figure out how to the get the bottom out
scrounge for a torx bit i didnt know i would need
one comes out fine
SECOND ONE ROUNDED OUT ON ME!!!
now i have a stripped bolt and no seat covers
the top of my back seat is torn and faded kinda bad. any suggestions to cover(not re-upholster) the back seat? do they make any that would work with out taking the seat out? i have the fold down rear seats if that info is of any value?
i was having such a good day
got my tags and everything

Easy out? Cut a slot in it for a big flat head screwdriver? Pull up on the seat back enough to push the cover around the bottom?
keep'em flying!

Yeah, you need a dremmel or similar with a cut off, and notch a nice slot in the head, so you can get on it with a large screwdriver. That, or use a pair of vgrips and get a really hard bite on the bolt. Or have it done the easy way, weld a nut to the head of that bolt, use that to take it out. You have to use the RIGHT size torx, and the bolts have thread lock on them.

Not to mention when those bolts are tightened, the threads at the end of the bolt are exposed to the elements, so if it's a northern car, you'll be dealing with rusty threads. You can always drill it out...

Always need to spray the exposed threads with Deep Creep before trying to remove. But just drill it out,get new bolt from junkyard.
