I used my dad's POS Harbor Freight gun. If/when I do another one, it will be with a better gun.

It depends on the gun youre using. But typically, you will need a minimum or 5hp and the ability to maintain 20 CFM.

I actually painted a trailer with Rust-Oleum and an electric "fence" gun at one point and it came out pretty decent. Never have tried it on a car though...since I have a HVLP gun for that. It may work...
