My first Game Rig Build
Re: My first Game Rig Build
you have a 1366? I heard those things can get stupid hot sometimes. Especially when overclocked.Lothurin wrote:good looking case. I hope to replace my Coolmaster V8 with nice water loop from EK. should keep my i7 cool while gaming.

Also Wanako... you built a "Gaming" rig before buying the video card.... . . . .. .... ... . . . . . . . .. ...... . . . .. .... ... . . . . . Fail... . LOL

Re: My first Game Rig Build
hey hey now. the entire configuration is the "gaming rig". I never said it was a gaming rig BEFORE I got the video card.

Re: My first Game Rig Build
currently my temps are
CPU = 36c
cpu #1 / Core #1 = 47c
CPU #1 / Core #2 = 43c
CPU #1 / Core #3 = 47c
CPU #1 / Core #4 = 45c
North bridge = 70c
CPU diode = 45c
none of this is overclocked...with a factory fan i was running temps around 55-60. with water cooling i should get down in the 33-36 range...I hope. When i run Prime95, my temps get up to about 60-65. When it hits 75-80 is when u start to worry.
All these temps are from my computer being on the last 3 days.

I have put together a couple of i7s. They run cool just fine. Though my brother's either has a bad CPU or a bad motherboard. Stress testing crashes the system (Prime 95 for 64bit), but memtest 86+ 4.2 reports no problems with the memory testing. I suspect a board issue. He has tried both stock and aftermarket coolers, no avail. Even some heavy games cause it to puke occasionally. System is pretty badass though.
When its working fine. haha
I still have my ancient almost 9 year old P4 HT. Solid as a rock, reliable as hell. Been playing Crysis, DOA (and its sequel), Mass Effect 1 & 2, etc. Does alright still, for as old as it is. Though you can tell it has bottle necks.
I actually sold my quad core system I built Feb this year. Didn't really like it, wanted to go with an i7 down the road, or whatever else pops through the pipe.
Yours looks good too. Nice work.
