W41 IDI Cover, Near Mint

Post by 90GTZHO »

Hey all, i have a spare, near mint, W41 IDI cover i just found. Dont really need it, but im offering it up for sale for anyone who needs ones. Feel free to ask any questions. Original powder coating is in great shape, only a couple areas where the coating is lifted off the cover and/or missing in very few. I have yet to see a cover in better shape than this one. If you want more detailed pics, feel free to pm me. Im asking $140 for it.

Dumb question, but outside of the physical appearance, what do you all gain by installing a different IDI cover? Obviously I don't have a 2.3/2.whatever but to me its just a cover. lol Price is insane for that, in my opinion, if all it is, is a cover?

Unless there are electronics mounted in it? I wouldn't know as I have never seen the bottom/back side. As for the mint thing. Seriously, you all throw that around way too much. Mint means new, never used, etc. Now "looks like mint", that would be more accurate. :P

Anyway good luck with the item! Just had to ask, never did understand it. :D

You're paying for rarity as all IDI covers, LO, HO, W41 are the same function-wise. The only reason to buy one is if your W41 car is missing one, or you swapped W41 cams into your car. I sell refinished HO IDI covers for $50, but those are WAY more common. You don't even want to know what some W41 cams sell for! lol

That is actually a pretty good price! I paid more than that for mine. These things are not getting any easier to find these days.

Yeah, i may have the one thats on my GTZ for sale here soon. Its in way better shape as i completely refinished it from bare metal.

Ace, Brett is correct, and i also stated "near mint" indicating some imperfections ;) While it is just appearance thing, they are incredibly hard to find, especially in this condition. Call people crazy, but i sold this for half of what some people have paid for these. Only reason i sold it for what i did, is supply and demand and i believe in fairness. I feel my asking price was fair in the sense that these have gone for $300 in worse condition.

Speedy, yes i have model trains, and i love the hell out of them. Im currently trying to get in with a railroad as i have gone to the school for it, but its rough times right now and the layoffs are getting rehired first.

To me, doing that would be "poser-like", similar to the Honda guys putting improper emblems on their cars, but to each their own... Do what you want, it's your car! :good:

Hello, is the W41 IDI cover still available. If it is would you ship to BC, Canada via USPS ground and what would it cost?

Cheers
