A/C Leak at compressor
A/C Leak at compressor
Any help? I have a 95 Z26.has 134A.I changed compressors and now where the 2 lines bolt to the compressor I have a leak,do I need new O-rings or does it take a seal. also on my Z26 the low side is under the car by the starter,what was GM thinking.

the there are o-rings on the flange that bolts to the compressor. I agree, GM wasn't thinking.

I don't know what is up with beretta.net.I am logged in,post a whole F'in paragraph go to submit,and it tells me to log in,I am logged in,TRY my damndest to get back to what i posted and it is GONE.gettin' tired of it,if someone could look into this problem that would be grand.

I can't help you with site issues. Most likely browser issues because I have no issues here.
As for your low side port, yes its on the lower front of the car. Dont know what GM was thinking but it works..... There is a o-ring connection at the compressor that the orings should be replaced any time it is taken apart...

It's not really an o-ring... it's a metal washer that has a rubber insert. Just sayin...
I wouldn't want someone to tell me it's o-rings, buy some o-rings, only to find out they were told wrong.
Local parts stores should carry them.

wow,you guys rock! with part#'s and all. would that be considered a Seal. are they both the same size? do they go in a certain way? when I changed compressors I didn't even know to look there,would they be stuck to the lines,or do I have to pry them out of the compressor? any other places I can look for obvious leaks? 134A is up to 10 bucks a can,last year I paid 5 bucks a can.Salesman at advance told me the reason was the company (dupont) is going out of business,don't know how true that is.
I have one of those Trigger style refill hoses,they suck,they leak,I tapped a can of red dye yesterday and before I could get it hooked to the underside of the Z26,I was wearing more then the 3oz. in the can.needless to say I was not real happy.2nd refill hose that leaked on me.
That's how I know It leaks at the compressor,I seen and heard it.any other spots for O-rings-Seals.this could get expensive quick.

also,how do I jumper the compressor to see if it will run? don't want to go replace seals-O-rings only to find out I got a bad compressor,looks good,spins free by hand,can I jumper it with the system empty? thanks guys.

do NOT run it empty, you need to charge the system to test the compressor unfortunately.
Both seals are the same size and they typically get stuck on the pipe side and not the compressor, but crap happens.

Your issue is on your side. It doesn't matter; the rubber portion is raised on both sides. Just make sure to tighten to the proper torque setting so you don't overtighten the seals. Make sure to put a little oil on the rubber part as well.
