first time doing brake lines
So my brother took my car and brought it back with no brakes, blew out one of the rear lines. There are 2 hard lines from the master cylinder to each rear wheel brake cylinder right? Im going to try to run brand new ones myself can anyone tell me the length I will need and what size fittings, and what size line? Thanks

Did he blow out a metal line or a rubber line? It could be a wheel cylinder out back too.

Metal, its leaking in the middle of the car I see it, and it left a nice stain down my driveway.

Is the whole line bad? Might be more economical to just patch it properly.

You might be able to get them in one piece from front to back (all 5 lines together). That's how GM sells them if there are any new ones available, they run a little over $100 if i remember right.

the line running to the right rear has a factory splice in the line right over the rear axle. i had mine blow out while driving home one night. They get rusty and then fail. You can just cut the line off and redo it without replacing the whole line unless the whole line is rusted.

You do realize 3 of those lines are fuel support? Though the price isn't bad if you are getting all 5 together.Cliff8928 wrote:You might be able to get them in one piece from front to back (all 5 lines together).
