First Gen N-Body Rocketparts Struts & Shocks
First Gen N-Body Rocketparts Struts & Shocks
Do you know anyone with a first gen N-body (1985-88 Grand Am, Calais, etc)? I have a set of first gen N-body Rocketparts struts & shocks for sale. I had originally put these on my father's Olds Calais (yeah, I get the joke) back in 1987 because he wanted a firmer ride. But, these things are incredibly hard - like lose your dentures hard. These are made for racing, period!
I think they were on his car for about 1 month before he made me take them off and replace them with standard FE3 parts. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away so I've been storing them for 25 years. I don't see myself ever getting/restoring a first gen N-body, so its time for them to find a new home.
The struts are PN 22047812 & 22047813
The shocks are PN 22047814
If you have a first gen N-body and want a serious set of shocks & struts these are your deal!
I am located in Ann Arbor, MI.
PS: I also have a set of the highest rate front springs for an auto trans Quad N-body. I haven't taken the time to look up the code in the catelog, but they are 14080130 spring code FAY. These were also on my Dad's car and they also came off at the same time.

Wow, I bet Draftin over at Q4F would want those.

Those struts would bolt right on the Beretta, as long as you used the 87-91 strut mounts. The rears obviously would only fit the 87-94.
I'd be curious what kind of struts they are. It looks like the cartridges are removable.

Cliff - they aren't removable. The guys at Olds Motorsports (who created & maintained the parts in the Rocketparts cat) had most of their special struts & shocks made by Delco - albeit to their specs. They are welded just like OE.
Also, sold these last night.

They almost looked like they had removable cartridges in them. The inside of the strut tube actually is threaded for a gland nut if you use replacement cartridges... At least on the older models.
