adding a rear window defroster

Post by JAWS89GTU »

I was reading online that the rear window defroster was an available option with the gtu...mine doesn't have that but I'm looking to add it on...how can I go about doing so and has anyone done this for an add on and can give me some insight and where can I buy the item if I. Even can do so still... thanks

I think the best bet would be to replace the back windshield with a rear defrost unit, run the wiring/relays/plugs, and boom. Done.

Might have the wiring in it already. Mine doesn't have defrost either but the wiring was in there. I swapped in a wiper switch with the button and it powers up.

All the cars are wired for the rear defrost, the wires are just tucked away in the plastics.

As too adding the rear defrost, if you have insurance, i would crack the back window and file a claim, tell them you had a defrost window and let them replace it. Not the most honest way, but the easiest and quickest.
