yea the fresh air intake was a leak on mine. I appear bone dry after going through my car. Tested over and over, no water is coming in anywhere.

can someone give me a rough idea of where the drain holes under the car will be? i dried out my carpet over a few days last week. i ran through a water puddle this morning on the driver side and a small puddle has returned.

i pulled back the carpet this morning and holy shiite its soaked under there! extremely.

so i go to pull the cowl again and couldnt get the wipers off this time for some reason, broke a screw driver in the process. then i noticed something odd. the harness pic'd below, not sure what it is, has a fairly large hole in the sealant around it. i tried to get a close up with my cell phone. just to left of the blurry cable is an illuminated area. that is the hole. could that be the source of the leak? i have to assume it should be sealed all the way around.

i also have 2 large "ghost" drips. they fell just to the left under the brake pedal but every thing is dry above it. :unknown:

it rained last night and will more today. the carpet was pretty wet when i got in the car. i gotta get a wet vac or something before that water starts some mold or something. i did the water pouring test and didnt see anything as far as source of the water coming in.

the light is a little funky i know. its front left corner of the harness. the sealant has dried and i can put my index finger under the edge of the harness.the hole may be part of the problem but i think i found the main source, after about 2 hours. i pulled the cowl and the drain was plugged with junk. the black square shape sheets that i am assuming are seals of some sort appear to be the main source. the firewall sealant all the way down under the cowl drain is in bad shape too. a leak could be there too. i pulled the carpet, padding, and sound deadener it was miserable under there. i laid upside down and pulled the plastic panel behind the pedals back to find a long rusty area that goes all the way up the firewall. at least i think it does since i couldnt see all the way up. the amount of water is pretty significant when i did the water hose test. it just doesnt seem that rain would be that bad though. i am stumped as too what to do to fix it. i dont have the resources to break everything down and reseal. its only the driver side so the only thing i can think of is to brush some rubber coating or tar in the cowl trough seams and as far down the firewall in the engine bay as i can get. with any luck that might minimize it. the best i can tell, carpet is screwed.
