1990 Beretta, dash can???
Does the top of the dash come off on these or does it all have to be replaced?

you can buy a dashcap from ebay (or google it), cut down the high parts in your dash, and glue the cap onto the old one. there are some topics i'm sure on here as well

Yea I have seen that. My pad is fair, cracks and pulled up ends around the defrost but I also have jsut sections that are popped up from what ever held them down. If I leave that alone then the cover will just be sticking up. I'd have to cut most of the cover out, then what? what does the cover adhere too???

i'm not exactly sure, as i never have got into one, there is a foam under-layment, it may only be 1/2" thick... but the dash cap is a hard cap, plastic, only about 1/16" think, but pretty rigid... it is formed and stays in it's shape pretty well. dash=pads are soft, and just lay on top conforming to the shape of what is there.

For the recap deal, you'll want to leave as much of the original dash that isn't junk as possible. If you pull the padding and all you're left with a much smaller hard black plastic dash.
Food for thought.

Use a really high temp glue that has a lot of flex to it that also has jell or pudding like consistency. That is all I can recommend.

yes for the 'dash cap', they send a small tube of urethane with it. urethane is great for things you want to stay there! just make sure you put it in the spot you want it and clamp/ weigh it down so it stays there...
