Interstate "governor racing".... Piss anyone else off?

Post by SuzukiGhostRider »

I got behind two tractor's tonight (semi's to those of you with no CDL) that were each intent on being ahead of the other and both appeared governed at 68mph. Man, this pisses me OFF when this happens, which is more and more regularly. ESPECIALLY when they try to pass each other UP hill.....

They hold up traffic for MILES in both lanes to pull this crap too and most times will cut you off at 80-85mph going 65mph JUST to get in front of you to pass the other tractor.....

Trucker's these days as a whole are purely fucking ignorant.....

And yes, I hold a CDL, so I, too, am technically a trucker.

Only maybe 20% left with any respect for the road and other drivers and who show even a SHRED of dignity to the profession.

HAHAH

I actually had this happen while I was driving. I had my cruise set, and this guy came up and sat on my right going the same speed, I never sped up, he never sped up. 10 miles later we had people honking and giving us the finger. I was laughing hysterically, as I was trying to figure out the other guys deal... I just didn't want to have to speed up, just to satisfy speeders behind me.

We were already doing the limit, so I couldn't see what everyone's problem was. But it was hilarious. Apparently the other guy thought so too.

Its amazing how angry people can be when they seem to be in a hurry to get nowhere. I understand that in your case, they probably weren't going the limit though, and I'm sure that was a bit more frustrating. And I get my share of the other end too. When you have both sides, it makes it more... Understandable.

But in all seriousness, there is no reason to behave like that, on either party. Ah well. Sometimes people just need to chillax. :D

I guess you can thank all the companies that will hire anyone, put them through a courses and bam truck driver. The old skool truckers dont put up with that crap, the owner operators. The guys with the long nose KW's and Petes because you know their CAT's and CUMMIN's arent governed. But the industry makes it hard for guys like that to make it.

Yeah, the speed limit here is 75mph on the I-40. Admittedly, I usually run 85mph, because it's well known in this area (I know most of the local, county and state cops) that they won't even pull CARS over (they love to pull the rigs over for anything over 5mph over the limit as they usually find a bunch of other infractions too, lol) unless they're doing at least 15mph (90mph) over the speed limit. But these two ass clowns were doing 65mph in both lanes side by side. That's just being a horse's ass.

I've had what happened to you Ace happen with me too, but usually after a mile of messing with the traffic, I'll drop the hammer and get by the other guy to free up the lanes. :P

THAT'S no crap. Most of the truckers now are either Russian, Asian, or Middle Eastern and most can't even speak PASSABLE English. Now, tell me, HOW THE HELL are they reading our ENGLISH road signs then???

Personal experience from when I was an Manager at a Speedco Truck Lube.

oh yeah I agree there are alot of truckers that cant hardly speak english to save their lives! They piss me off when they start argueing prices. Its like "dude the price is right here in black and white" I'm here to work not argue with you guys. It's part of their culture to haggle prices, simply a cultural difference but still I cant stand it.

lol I had the typical trucker drag race (68 mph) and I dropped the hammer and didnt cut the guy in the outside lane off, just squeezed in and boy was he pissed! I loved every second of it! Honked his horn and flashed me! I just grinned and enjoyed it.

they don't read the signs so much as follow the gps(language settings), or match the pictures (big printed letters to big printed signs)
