Nope! I pop the front wheel off and it fits perfect with the seat down! ;)
indyyellow wrote:well not be a ass but I won't be putting any bikes in the car, don't want to run the risk messing up that nice trunk.
Don't worry, I have two sets of trunk carpet and I carry dirty car parts, bikes, firewood, whatever all the time, but still keep my trunk looking mint! lol

That is ot a bike, it does not say HUFFY on it. ha ha ha
I was in an antiques mall this weekend, looking around at the old stuff ya know and I see an Matchbox gasoline hauler, DEAD ringer for mine, well part of mine, the young son of mine LOST the trailer. I was like well that is gone, never to be seen again. Mind you I am 43, got it when I was 10 or so. Well what do I see at the place, THE SAME thing my son lost. Needles to say I bought it, $35 smacks.

Well the serpentine belt tore up in the 3400 Z... Which sucks because I just put a new tensioner and belt on it last week

I wonder why it's shredding then. Kinda weird. you have a bad pulley or something flopping around that's tearing into it?

Or its too tight/loose. Something doesn't sound good.

All I know is, amount of tension, loose or wobbly pulley/accessory, damaged pulley or idler, bad tensioner maybe. I know its new, but who knows. Could be bouncing the belt, making it flip or something. Need to use the throttle at the TB and manually rev the engine up and down, both slowly AND quickly, while watching your belt, see if anything is excessively vibration, or something. Sometimes a hard acceleration will show something an easy one won't. If you see a pulley like vibrating side to side or jumping up and down, etc that might be your problem... *shrug

I have been driving it daily since I fixed it last wednesday and it has drove perfect up until tonight. I went to Walmart after work. It drove fine there but when I went to leave it took a bit longer to start than usual then I noticed I didn't have power steering... Odd.

Popped the hood and half the belt was shredded and what was left of the belt was relatively loose not tight at all.

Thanks for the tips DTM! Didn't think about the quick and slow rev from under the hood to check to see what's wrong.

Currently the 3400 Z is next to the Quad Z in the garage until I get back from Bfest NE next week. I will look at it then since I'm leaving tomorrow.

made a desperate attempt to fix my cowl leak with plasti dip. about a 10 minute project including removing the cowl. i read on a blog that it worked so i figured i would give it a shot. worst case scenario i have to peel it off and start over. i can always used the left overs too. also replaced all the cowl clips and added a piece of weather stripping to stop the damn rattling. maybe that will slow down some of the water too. who knows.

went to wally world and figured i would let them balance my tires while i was there since they have a decent rep here for the tire dept. waited 45 mins for the lady to tell me they couldnt do it b/c i had "custom wheels". it was almost closing time.

started to try the styluss method of painting my car. its already painted but styluss' is much shinier. got started per his instructable. then i realized either he has the patience of job or i have ADD  . now i have some rustoleum paint i can use for something in the house.

we had a decent little thunderstorm and i still have dry carpet :Yahoo!: . maybe my plastidip trick worked to stop the leak. only time will tell.

figured out 2 of my tires are out of round severely. i took the car back to the shop that was originally s'posed to balance my tires. since i paid for it last time and the weights fell off i figured i may as well get my moneys worth. when i started home i noticed the vibration in the steering wasnt much better. i pulled into my back yard to inspect everything out and realized the tires they balanced were cupping. i switched them to the back as they back two were in reasonably good shape. the vibration is a little better but still present. looks like tires may be on the list soon.

That reminds me, I need to have mine re-balanced.

I filled mine up with gas today. Lets see what my mileage was....

Oh yeah. 29.5 MPG! :P And I rolled over 233k this last tank. Yippie.

Got to love a 17 year old car that can out mileage even some of the brand new ones.....

I drive the speed limit for one. I keep the RPM under 3k most of the time. I don't idle if I'm not moving.

So...... According to Jon, I have a bad fuel pump! lol

But I don't think that's it, this car has always gotten good mileage. You can see the best tank I have ever gotten in my Sig picture, and I know for a fact I have hit 500+ miles on a tank 3 or 4 times since I owned the car. I average around 400 though.
