you get 500 MILES per tank?!? that's pretty awesome! i was pretty happy to get 500 KM out of a tank... now i got some work to do... my engine light comes on when decelerating from 110-80 km/h, i suspect O2 sensor. do you have a wai installed or stock airbox? k&n? and i have heard some people say that the tornado crap that you put inside you piping actually works on some cars... i think a dodge ram i saw.

Nope, my intake is bone stock. In fact the whole drive train is stock.berettaboi wrote:my engine light comes on when decelerating from 110-80 km/h, i suspect O2 sensor. do you have a wai installed or stock airbox? k&n? and i have heard some people say that the tornado crap that you put inside you piping actually works on some cars... i think a dodge ram i saw.
What year is your car?
Mine used to do the same damn thing yours is doing, but once I rebuilt the LIMG and CLEANED THE EGR breather tube that leads to the upper intake it stopped.
That small breather tube gets clogged up with crap and then the engine can't get a reading on the EGR.

I have a heavy foot too at times though. I have this thing about people that go slower than the speed I want to go. I get really pissy and turn into an chump. Especially if the person can't make up their fucking minds what speed to drive!

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
I get 30mpg and usually drive like an ass, meaning I actually DRIVE my car, I don't shift every time the damn shift light tells me to at 2500 rpms.
But I got a Quad! 7k shifts are ftw! Not all the time, but enough.
Drove mine about 130 miles round trip today (the Quasar) and on the last mile and a half before my exit romped on it and buried the needle (130mph) and was still rapidly gaining speed when I let off. I love my Beretta!
Drive it like Ms. Daisy or Mario Andretti. It matters not. Rock solid 30mpg.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
lol good stuff. my car is a 95. i need to pull the front valve cover to reseal it, but i dont think the LIMG is doing anything... it's hard to tell with the slight oil leak from the valve cover... which also smokes a bit and stinks when moving really slow. top end was rebuilt 70kkm ago last owner said.
did you notice a good jump in mileage when you cleaned it up?

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Just "finished" my 3400 exhaust manifold swap to my 2.8. What a chore that was!!! I ran into a couple of things that aren't addressed in the 3x00 swap that should be when swapping to a 3t40.
First is the trans dipstick tube. The 3t40 one will not work with the 3400 manifolds, so i had to get a bit creative by doing some "research" in the yards. Found a "straight" one and massaged it with a 1/2" conduit bender. Here is the result:

Those of you with the 2.8/3.1 know where it used to be...i like this mucho better!!!
Second is the shift cable/bracket where it mounts to the trans. It will work but is SO close to the rear manifold the lower heat shield cannot be installed without modification. My solution was using the bracket/cable/shifter unit from a 93 Corsica. The routing/mount setup moves the cable and bracket as far away from the exhaust as it could be.
The toip radiator hose was too close for comfort for me, so I found that if i installed my top radiator hose backwards, it pulls it away from the exhaust. I couldn't have done this with the factory airbox.
I built the downpipe for it today - 2-1/2" piece. It will get the rest of the system in the coming days!!! And that is what i did to my ride today...and the past month!!!

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Gave the SCX a new clutch pedal bushing setup today. The old one was basically gone and rotting away. No wonder the pedal had 1/2" or better of "dead play" at the top. It's gone now. I also adjusted the pedal as the guy who did the swap wasn't bright enough to do it. I have given up the usual assumptions when getting a car that's been drive line swapped that at least the MINOR things were done. I now check EVERY LITTLE THING on this car.....
Clutch pedal now releases as it should and where it should (was a little low before). Clutch always felt strong, but damn low because of a mis-adjusted pedal linkage. NOW it all feels proper.
Admired the GTZ today.
